Refreshed
I'm back from a little blogging break & an unhappy MAC with a bad virus [ I learned the hard way that yes, Macs do get computer viruses ]. But thanks to the nice IT professionals that I work with who don't mind doling out hallway advice, I'm back in business - and refreshed from the long weekend break.
Do you ever have a hard time deciding which way to go with a design, paint color, clothing choice? Above was the 'almost image' for this week's Cocktails At Six post. Beautiful color, but not quite the same Spring feeling as the winning image.

A picture is worth...
Do you ever just wake up & know it's going to be a good day? Part of it might be visualizing it the night before; I'm practicing.
In bloom
Doesn't this image just have you salivating for the opening day of the Farmer's Market? It was actually taken at a class in Berkeley on flower arranging [ & cooking! ] put on by The Little Flower School. I may have to sign up for something like this after dance classes are over - how fun!

DIY it :: Rustic-Modern Dining Table
Seriously. You can make this in no time flat. If you haven't been to stylizimo blog lately, make a trip & browse the DIY tab. So many projects, too little time - but now I'm sooooo inspired to get the toolbox out again.
** and don't miss those cute vintage glasses turned tea light votives

Sleeping soundly
A bed low to the ground [ there's something about low beds that I've always found alluring ] with a lovely coverlet. Don't you want to just climb right in?

Small space = big impact
The smallest details make all the difference. Painting the outer window trim in a contrast color to the interior trim is such a nice way to tie a hint of accent color through an entire house. Love it.
Bed & Breakfast [+ a free! recipe card]
I decided it was time to name my near weekly Sunday posts of what I'm whipping up for breakfast, so welcome to 'Bed & Breakfast' my friends. Sundays are one of my favorite days to make my way to a quiet kitchen, start the espresso machine up & decide what from-scratch breakfast recipe to mix up. Six days a week I run, run - and run. Sunday mornings are lovely for slowing down.
So now the recipe - for my favorite scones! These are so tasty - my variations include substituting white chocolate chips, or large chunks of dark chocolate. Find the directions here - within a half hour you can be eating them too! If you love them when you're done, I've designed a quick little 4x6, fold in half recipe card (right click & save to your desktop to print) for you to jot down the recipe.

A picture is worth...
Finally, a break in the rain again. My rooms are flooded with the prettiest light this morning.
Yes, Spring is on its way!

Small space = big impact
I've been obsessed with the Kaklugn for months now - ever since this lovely post over at Coco+Kelley. I love fireplaces, but this Scandinavian style has just stolen my designer heart.
Luck of the Irish
I have just enough Irish in my family line to proudly boast what seems to be the official freckles, fair skin & green eyes for today. Happy St. Patrick's Day - enjoy the fun!

Inspired by :: Tina Berning
Thank you to a wonderful 'curated collection of pretty girls' post (how I love a portrait of a lovely girl!) over on sfgirlbybay, I stumbled upon Tina Berning's inspiring work. The colors. The layering. (= swooning).

Shimmy & Twirl
Wednesdays & Thursdays are dance class (so be prepared for more dance images during the coming weeks - I adore them!), where I'm battling my natural ballerina instincts & classical training to learn to move those hips in a whole new direction. It's fun. It's lighthearted & filled with amazing music. And I've realized that all the dance throughout my life makes me feel pretty, no matter how silly I may look trying to get the 'shimmies' down.
Do you dance, & how does it make you feel?

Color Crush :: Barely Blush on Black
I almost couldn't decide if I liked the soft blush & ivory accents on black walls, or the frame & artwork collection itself best? I leaned toward color, but it's a toss up. And that vintage painting...beautiful!
French Girl of the Week
I'm personally still wearing the vibrant red lip when the mood strikes - it's all kinds of fun if you haven't braved the bright hue yet. I also love the peek-a-boo lace cami peeking out from the sweater; the perfect come hither touch, without being over the top.

a 'do' :: three twisted buns
Joanna's hair styling posts are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I received more compliments when I sported this little 'do' last week.
Early Riser
Was it just me, or was it hard to wake up this morning [ here in the States, daylight savings just started ]?! The soft morning light does help. A little.
